Sept. 10

Hello parents and friend,
Jacob did the blog but, it mysteriously disappeared so I am going to be a Jacob imposter. Today we learned about Niagra Falls. Amazing natural wonder! We have been doing Dibble testing for two days now-this is a test that measure how many words per minute you can read and how well you can retell what you read. In reading we are working mostly on strategies-how to read fiction and nonfiction text. We are reading a lot about the Romans-the theme of our classroom. Math is the best subject. We are learning how to write and evaluate algebraic expressions. What fun!!! Tomorrow we will have our next round of weekly assessments. Hopefully our vocabulary will be as successful as last week. 100% of the students achieved 100%. Mrs. Glenn has never seen the likes of that before. She was truly amazed. Homework for tonight is:
Spelling-parent practice test or 3 times each word
Vocabulary-review cards highlight important words phrases etc.
Math-wkshts R 1-13 and R 1-15
DPE-highlight corrections on each paragraph
Spelling wkbk (assigned Tues. 14,15,16)
Ancient Civil. Lesson 2 and 3 Two column notes and T charts for 2 and 3 Roman Civil. (worked on in class) if you are not finished -finish at home.

Thank you for following our blog.
